To all our wonderful patrons, our staff and everyone who has been on the O’Connell Street Bistro adventure with us. It’s time to say farewell to the biggest chapter of our lives and O’Connell Street Bistro will close its doors, permanently on Friday April 16, 2021.

While the Bistro has been our life’s work for close to a quarter of a century, we have never thought of it as simply ours. It belongs to every one of you, our fabulous patrons who have supported us, enjoyed our hospitality, and so many of you have become our very good friends.

We have enjoyed one hell of a wonderful ride and our heartfelt thanks go out to you for all the times you have made the Bistro part of your life.

We are honoured to be consistently placed among the top restaurants in New Zealand. We have been privileged to work alongside teams of very talented individuals. We have had fantastic chefs, managers, sommeliers, waiters and kitchen hands who have contributed hugely to the success of the Bistro and we love you all.

We especially treasure the close relationships we have with our suppliers. Many of you have been with us since the Bistro opened last century, in 1997.

While this is farewell to the Bistro, we are not saying goodbye. The future awaits. Cheers to you all.

Chris & Amanda

We are accepting final reservations until Friday 16 April 2021.
